The M/Monit 3.7.8 had a bug: when the user with the admin role was updated via the Admin Users page (e.g. the password was changed), the user lost the admin role. Workaround: stop M/Monit and add the admin user back to the admin role, for example: INSERT INTO userroles VALUES ("admin", "admin");
